For final restorations of consistently high quality, each application within the Validated Workflow is designed to be optimally synchronized – from the original scan to the software design data and to our milling technology.

Combination of size, speed and angle

Straumann employs high-speed cutting (HSC) milling technology to manufacture high-quality restorations in the validated workflow. Our state-of-the-art milling machines possess three key features that contribute to a predictable and consistent prosthetic quality:

  • <h4>Size</h4> Our 4.2 and 6.7 ton milling machines are nearly free of vibration although their acceleration corresponds to 1.5 times the earth’s gravity. These heavyweight machines are so precise that the re-positional deviation is less than 0.002 mm.
  • <h4>Speed</h4> The milling machines reach a high speed of maximum 10 meters per second, creating sharp margins and smooth surfaces. The maximum spin of 40 000 – 54 000 U/min grinds the most delicate wall and is designed to achieve high precision in the dental restoration.
  • <h4>Angle</h4> Four and five simultaneously operating axes can craft the required morphology.
