Technical demands

To use Straumann® CARES, your dental laboratory requires the following components:

Scanning

3D camera

Scanning with 3D camera
The model situation can be recorded with the scanner of the inLab unit or with the inEos scanner. A new feature is that dentists who use CEREC 3 can now record and digitize the implant situation directly in the patient's mouth. The abutment is then designed, as before, in the dental laboratory using the inLab 3D software from SIRONA. This procedure is unique in the field of CAD/CAM prosthetics, and the concept was first presented at IDS 2007.

inLab

inLab*
The multifunctional inLab CAD/CAM system consists of a compact grinding unit with integrated laser scanner**. It is controlled by a conventional PC powerful enough to handle CAD/CAM processes.

inEos

inEos*
This scanner records the data of the single-tooth model, die model or complete jaw model and the antagonists. The scanned model situation is used as the basis for designing the abutment in the inLab 3D software.

Scanbody

Scanbodies

A Scanbody is required for recording the implant position during the scanning process. Such a Scanbody is supplied with every Straumann® CARES abutment.

inLab software
The 3D software for designing the abutment is an integral part of the inLab 3D software, which is available from authorized dental equipment distributors.

Internet connection
Broadband (cable, DSL) is recommended.
